Cheers to 2022.

Wow folks, is this thing on?

I was shocked to see it's been over a year since I've posted. I mean I knew it was a while but 14 months? dang. Blogging is just one of those those things that I can't seem to quit no matter how much it pisses me off. I can't be the only one that feels this way?

Anyway, I hope you've all been doing well, as well as we can be with the pandemic still going on. Things are once again going crazy here in Nova Scotia so it's masks all around and limiting our social gatherings once again. We were however, able to get away to Punta Cana right before Christmas and it was fantastic. The temps were scorching, the drinks were ice cold - it was perfection and definitely was the doctor ordered after being in lockdown for almost two years.

A few things I plan to focus on and/or get back into this year:

Limit our food waste.

Seriously, this shit needs to stop. Not only because it's straight up embarrassing how much food we throw out each week but also it's going to start killing our bank account and just pissing me off in general - $10.99 for a small thing a strawberries? go away. Food prices (much like everything else) are expected to rise again this year and I want to be more mindful of what is already in our fridge and pantry before running to the grocery store.

Start listening to podcasts again at work.

2021 was the year of reading for me. You wouldn't think this would be a bad thing however I would get so caught up in books that I couldn't .. stop reading them if that makes sense? Even at work which made me, less than productive haha. While I do enjoy listening to music at work the odd time, I much prefer having a podcast - mainly about serial killers haha - playing in the background.

Drink more water on the weekends.

Bill actually laughed when I told him this one. I drink a lot of water during the day at work, I mean a lotttttttt. Thankfully I am able to go pee anytime I need to. However, during the evenings and especially on the weekends, my water intake starts lacking. I've already picked up a new water bottle (one of my weaknesses!) and plan to be more mindful of drinking more water and taking it with us when we go out to run errands.

Three small things should do it right? I'm not one to give myself any "resolutions" for the New Year, mainly because for some reason that alone sets me up for failure but I did want to pick some small items to work at. What about you?

Cheers to a new year!
